Rules and Procedures of the Competition (“The Rules”)
(A) Description
"Premier League Challenge"Television quiz program, is a one-hour on-air "football" knowledge quiz program specifically for fans of the English top flight league.
To qualify to become a contestant on the program individuals must:
Call or send an SMS to one of the specified short codes.
Answer correctly, a "football" knowledge multiple-choice question.
(B) Definitions
"Company"
ARTHUR MACKENZIE LIMITED, owners and developers of program.
"Producers”
Doublekay Entertainment, the organizers of the Competition and a division of ARTHUR MACKENZIE LIMITED.
"Player"
Any person who enters the Competition in accordance with the rules and successfully becomes the Show Player.
"The Studio Part of the Competition"
That part of the Competition which takes place in the studio whether or not it is recorded for transmission.
"The Recording"
The recordings of the Studio Part of the Competition (including any Special Episode recording).
"The Special Episode"
Any episode of the program specially recorded to celebrate a specific football league, group of people or time of the year.
"The Recording Date"
The date of recording of the program in question.
"The Studio"
ARTHUR MACKENZIE or any such studio as the Producer may nominate.
"The Bench"
The Player is required to bring along to the show 2 substitutes (friends who at certain points during the show, he can turn to for support in answering a question) each substitute can only be used once and the contestant is not obliged to abide by their answers.
Dead Ball
This means a coin toss and the player has to choose "heads" or "tails" and then the referee will perform the coin toss and if the player is lucky then he gets a fresh question to replace the one he couldn’t answer. The player is only allowed one Dead Ball situation during the game.
(C) Eligibility:

Players must be citizens or residents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
*
Players must be resident in Nigeria and must be able to travel to the Studio, situated in Lagos.

Players must be 18 years of age and above
*
Employees, their immediate family members (spouse, mother, father, daughter, son, sister, brother and their spouses), and those living in the same household, of ARTHUR MACKENZIE Limited, Doublekay Entertainment, all "Premier League Challenge" production personnel, advertising agencies or any person or entity directly connected with the production, administration, or any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives are not eligible. Staff members, of the co-sponsoring companies, directly involved with the delivery of the program, including the staff directly responsible for the telephone service. In addition, individuals acquainted with any persons who are or have been connected with the production, administration or transmission are not eligible, if in the Company or Producer's, discretion, the individual's participation could create the appearance of impropriety.

Where necessary, our legal department will on a case-by-case basis, review cases to determine eligibility of Players.

Any Participant who appears on the program as a "Player" is not eligible to appear on the program again.
However, The Company reserves the right to invite back any Player(s) from the Program or any Player(s) who played the Game on the Program for special episodes of the Program at the Game Company's sole discretion.
(D) How to Enter
Every person, desiring to participate in the program will be required to execute correctly, the entry procedure as follows:

STEP 2 You will receive a multiple choice question based on the club you support.
STEP 3 Answer correctly, the multiple-choice question based on the club you support.
STEP 4: If you answer correctly, you will be notified immediately and your data will be stored in our database and will be used for the computerized random selection process in the next stage for possible participation on the program.
STEP 5: The random selection of contestants by the customized Random Number Generator (RNG) will be carried out on a daily basis, between shows.
STEP 6: In the event that your name is selected, you will be telephoned on the number you have provided at a reasonable time on any day until such a day and time that we have determined would allow enough room for you to attend the recording. If successful contact is made, the telephone conversation may be recorded.
The Player will be asked to confirm if they will comply with the Rules (and be advised of where to obtain copies). In the event that a Player cannot attend on the given date, the Company is regretfully unable to offer an alternative Show Date.
If the Show Date is agreed, the Player would then be asked one or more additional “football” knowledge question, which may or may not have multiple-choice answers. Subject to the fulfillment of the conditions of the Rules, those eight Players
and the back-up in respect of each Show who have given the correct or the closest correct answer(s) will be asked to participate in the Studio Part of the Competition on the recording date.
Players are told the approximate date and time when they will be telephoned again in the event of their successfully answering the further general knowledge question(s) so as to arrange for their attendance at the Studio on the Agreed Show Date.
STEP 7: Upon successful contact and agreement with Players as to the arrangements for such Players' attendance at the studio.
i. Players must arrive at the Studio between 8am and 9am (or any other specified time) on the recording date.
ii. Players must bring a relative who will join the Studio Audience of the Show.
iii. For those coming from outside Lagos and environs, a reasonable amount will be reimbursed to subsidize your travel expense. No fee will be paid for any attendance at the Studio or in respect of any loss of earnings thereby incurred.
STEP 8 In the event of the failure of any Player to attend the Studio by the aforesaid time for any reason whatsoever the Company shall be entitled to exclude such Player(s) from the Show and the Studio Part of the Competition.
STEP 9 There are two reserve Players for each show who will be selected, contacted and arrangements made for their attendance on the recording date in accordance with the procedures outlined above and who shall be entitled to take the place of Players in the event that for whatever reason, Players are unable to take part in the relevant show.
(E) The Studio Part of the Competition

Each Show Player selected in accordance with the procedures specified below shall be entitled to answer up to ELEVEN football knowledge questions with multiple-choice answers so as to afford him/her the opportunity of competing for the sum of N 11 Million. The questions will be divided into two halves; the first half and second half and the questions will increase in difficulty as the Player progresses with the first half questions being easier, while the toughest questions will come up in the second half.

On the recording date Players will be met at the Studio by a representative of the Company. Players will be required to sign an agreement in standard form for contributors to television program and shall include (a) their confirmation that they have understood and agree to the Rules and (b) their consent to the recording of their contribution to the Show in question, and thereafter to the broadcast and all other audio visual exploitation of this and to the publication of his/her name and photograph in all media.

Upon commencement of each Show (or if a Show Player (as defined below) is in the middle of play from the preceding Show following the end of play by such a Show Player) the eleven Players for the Show in question will be asked to compete with one another by answering 5 multiple football knowledge questions in the SPOT KICK segment. The Player answering the most questions correctly in the allotted time will go forward to answer up to a further ELEVEN football knowledge questions ("The Show Player") in return for cash prizes. Where there is a tie in the number of correct answers, the players go into sudden death, answering questions until one player is left standing.
IV.
a) The Show Player will be shown each question together with the four multiple-choice answers in advance of deciding whether he/she wishes to continue play. Prior to answering any question, a Show Player may withdraw from the Competition and retain all cash so far won notwithstanding the use of one or more of the substitutes (provided for the avoidance of doubt the question has not been answered).
b) If a question is incorrectly answered the Show Player will lose all winnings in the category in which he/she is currently playing but will retain the winnings arising out of his/her success in the preceding category and will thereafter be disqualified from further entry to the Competition this is done by the issuance of a RED CARD.
c) The Show Player will be entitled to use each of the substitutes on one occasion only and may be used either individually in respect of any question or collectively in respect of the same question in any one of three categories. In the event that a Show Player withdraws or answers a question incorrectly the remaining Players for the Show in question may be invited by the Company (in its sole discretion) to participate in the same procedure set out in iii) above for that Show only and the successful Contestant will become the Show Player. In the event that any Show Player has not yet completed his/her opportunity to answer up to ELEVEN questions and the Company determines (in its sole discretion) that sufficient material for the Show in question has been recorded such Show will come to an end and the Show Player must appear in the following Show. The Company shall have no responsibility by reason of any variation in the length of the Studio Part of the Competition.
General Rules

You may enter as many times as you wish but can only appear in the “centre circle” ONCE in a lifetime.
Any person who has appeared as in the “centre circle” CANNOT be a part of the program again.

Persons must not confer with others when answering questions and must enter the Competition on their own behalf. Entries by proxy will not be accepted. A Show Player must not leave the set unless told by the Company to do so.

The Company may in its sole discretion exclude Players from participation in the Studio Part of the Competition which may include without limitation (i) circumstances in which in the Company's view render Players unfit to participate therein; (ii) inability to produce documentation specified by the Company proving the identity of the Player.

The Company may refuse to pay winnings or reclaim all sums paid to Show Players in the event of his/her fraud, dishonesty or non-entitlement to participate in the Competition under the Rules.
*
In the event of any fault, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the operation of any part of the Competition, and/or the operation of the telephone system, or the validity of any answer, the decision of the Company shall be final.
*
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company reserves the right to amend the Rules or terminate the Competition at any time which amendment/termination will be published and shall be applicable as from the date of such publication (without Players having any claim on the Company).

All Contestants agree to abide by the Rules including these General Rules.

If the operation of the Competition (including without limitation the operation of the telephone system); the recording; broadcast of any/all of the Shows is affected by circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Company or is prevented by reason of any actual, anticipated or alleged breach of any law or applicable regulations, the Company may cancel all or any part of the Competition and Players shall have no claim upon the Company.

Whilst the Company shall make all reasonable endeavors to (i) enable Players to proceed with their ideal Show (ii) to contact all Show s at each relevant juncture of the Competition, the Company can make no guarantee therefore and the Company shall in its sole discretion be entitled to proceed with the next entitled Player under these Rules.

Notwithstanding a Player's participation in the Competition, there is no obligation on the part of the Company, the Producer or the authorized airing television stations to broadcast any Show in which he/she has taken part, or any or all of his contribution as recorded by the Company.

Subject always to eligibility criteria, Players may make multiple entries to the Competition and multiple applications in respect of the same show. In the event that any such Player(s) is selected more than once for the same show under the random selection process specified in clause "D STEP 4" above such Player will be entitled to answer the further football knowledge question(s) once only.
The Company has endeavored to make reasonably practicable arrangements to minimize Telephone and Internet system difficulties but can make no guarantee thereof.

A competition bearing the same title as this Competition may be promoted unknown to the Company, by a third party. The Company bears no responsibility for any such competition and accordingly it should not be confused with this Competition.
# The Company bears no responsibility to obtain passports and/or visas for winners of the free trips and any winners unable to travel will be required to accept a nominated cash value in lieu.

(F) Selecting Qualified Candidates
The names of all contestants who answer the question asked correctly will go into a database. 100 of these contestants will be short listed weekly by our computerized random selection process. If selected, you will be contacted and asked to answer one more qualifying question. This question is not a multiple choice question, but rather requires you to give the nearest answer to the question. The answers provided by all contestants will be timed by the computer and 11 contestants with the fastest nearest answers would be invited to play the game.

(G) Corporate Social Responsibility
Once every quarter there will be a Special Celebrity Edition in which Celebrities will be invited to play “Premier League Challenge” and their winnings will be matched by the sponsor and donated to charity.
(H) Play at home
You can also play "Premier League Challenge" game at home.
HOW TO PLAY
At the end of every show on Friday,” The REF" (The Host) will announce the Home Game question (General English League question) for the week. What you are to do is very simple.
You will be required to:
# Text your answer: A, B, C or D to the specified question. (Sponsor's network) subscribers only.
Note: All entries go through a random selection process and 20 lucky winners are picked weekly to win 22,000. “YOU COULD BE ONE OF THE LUCKY WINNERS".
The more times you play the better your chances.
Note: It is open to Sponsor's network only.
Line opens immediately the question is asked and closes 12noon on Wednesday. Winners whose telephone numbers are displayed on the show will be contacted on the preceding Monday to discuss the modalities of payment.
(I) To be an audience member
# You must be 18 years and above.
# You must be invited for the show. To reserve a ticket, click on this link to fill an online form. The audience ticket will be sent to you via your e-mail address if tickets are still available for the particular show you are reserving for or we would indicate to you when one is available. The process of issuing tickets is based on a First come first served basis as we have a limited number of tickets for the show.
# Once you are qualified, you will then be invited to be an audience for recording that week.
# It should be noted that it is half a day's activity. Recording starts by 11 am hence, all invited audience members are expected to be at the studio by 8am.
# Audience members should be ready to give full support towards the success of the recording.
# The audience is allowed to play along with the Player on the hot seat (as each audience member has a keypad) but will not be allowed to murmur the answers to the contestants.
Gift items are available for the audience members at every show and there will be a quarterly AUDIENCE GRAND PRIZE of a free trip to the UK to watch your favorite team in action.
(J) Format of the show
The Player in the "centre circle" will be required to answer up to eleven questions to win the Grand Prize of Eleven Million Naira.
There will be five questions based on the Player’s club of choice and five questions based on the English top flight league and finally an Extra Time question to win the Grand Prize.
There will be Five first half questions interchanging between club based and league based questions and then five second half questions also interchanging between club based and league based questions. The Extra Time question can be either club based or league based.
At the end of each half the players’ winning up to that point are "confirmed" which means that he/she cannot leave the show with less than that amount.
The Player will be required to bring along two friends who will make up his "Bench" - they are the substitutes he can turn to in times of difficulty to get answers, however, the Player is not obliged to utilize their answers. Each substitute can only be used once.
At any point in the game, the player can also request for a “DEAD BALL” which means a coin toss and the player has to choose “heads” or “tails” and then the referee will perform the coin toss and if the player is lucky then he gets a fresh,new question to replace the one he couldn’t answer.
A player is allowed only one DEAD BALL situation during the game.
Once a player has used both his substitutes and his Dead Ball, he is shown a YELLOW by the REF to warn him that he is out of options and on his own. Once a player misses a question or decides to end his game,he is shown a straight RED card by the REF and is out of the game.
At any point during the game whenever a question is in play, the player can decide to leave the game without attempting to answer the question. In doing so, the player gets a Red Card and gets to leave with whatever he has won so far.
The REF (The Host) will be dressed appropriately as a top flight English league referee.
The Player (Contestant) will be dressed in his team jersey.
The Bench (Substitutes) will be dressed in same team jersey as the Player.
